Most of my flying is from Grand Forks to various places ranging from the central BC coast to Alberta. I fly often to Anahim Lake and out to several small hydro plants serving communities on the west coast. I also work on several plants in the Robson Valley near McBride and Valemount.

Have had two unrelated engine failures, one resulting in a crash and one with a successful landing at Revelstoke, where the plane received a nicely overhauled engine from Ken Vike of VikeAeromotive in Kamloops.

Why did you start flying?
Flying is a childhood dream. Ever since my first airplane experience as a young boy, I have fascinated everything about aviation. I knew I wanted to become a pilot at the age of 7. I let my parents know about it and I’m very thankful that they have supported me throughout.

What airplane did you learn to fly in?
Cessna 172

What airplane do you fly now?
Still a Cessna. I’m hoping that’ll upgrade to a Boeing in the future :P

What is your favorite kind of flying or place to fly to?
I enjoy sharing aviation the most with people who has little to zero knowledge about it. It’s such a thrill explaining and showing all the things we do and why we love flying. (Also makes me look like a genius. Kidding)

Although I haven’t tried it, I like the Flight Sharing feature. Also, the Airport Restaurants page is really helpful.

What year did you start flying?
2006

Why did you start flying?
Runs in the family! My dad worked for Air Canada and built an RV-6 as well as acquired a Cardinal which my younger sister and I learned on.

What airplane did you learn to fly in?
Cessna 177 (cardinal)

What airplane do you fly now?
C177, Vans RV-6, C152 , C172 , BE76

What is your favorite kind of flying or place to fly to?
I love flying the RV-6 “ the imitutor” and learning basic aerobatics! Keeps you on your toes and can be challenging to fly, but so rewarding.

The cardinal is like a flying sofa and is always nice to cruise around in on longer flights or at night with friends. It’s also a good time builder compared to the RV.

I have yet to test the waters of bush flying and have never been in a STOL aircraft so that’s what I would like to experience next.

Overall just getting airborne is the best and my favorite airport thus far is Courtenay for lunch.

What is your favorite feature on the BCGA website?
I love that they do a survival shakedown and would love to attend one when I get the chance.

In a few words describe what the BCGA is to you:
A community of enthusiastic aviators in a truly beautiful province! We’re lucky and there is such a mix of ATC, AME, Bush Pilots, Commercial Pilots etc.

What other aviation organizations / clubs are you affiliated with?
None so far. Although I have a feeling that will be changing with my interest in aerobatics.

Other interests:
Motorcycling, Painting, Horseback riding, Hiking and overall adventures
