What is your name?
Thomas Bramble

Instagram Name (If Applicable):
@thomasbramble

What is your occupation?
IT Scrum Master (Boeing)

What is your home airport?
CZBB

What year did you start flying?
Started hang gliding around 1996ish

Where did you learn to fly?
East Dereham UK (HG)
King George Airpark (Ultra) PFC (PPL)

Why did you start flying?
Having spent several years hang gliding in the UK and unable to make storing a hang glider in a downtown condo work (there's just no way it will go in the elevator) I took the plunge on a groupon with King George Airpark to get my ultralight permit last summer and that was it, I was hooked again. Now Im working on my PPL and solo'ed for the first time last week!

What airplane did you learn to fly in?
Spectrum Beaver RX550 Ultralight

What airplane do you fly now?
Cessna 152 (with Pacific Flying Club)

What is your favorite kind of flying or place to fly to?
Right now I'm focused on getting my PPL (loving every minute of it!) and hoping to acquire my first plane next year. Im pretty torn between a Cherokee'esq style low wing or tail dragger with bush tires for some wild camping trips, I'm hoping some more flying will help the decision process :-)

What is your favorite feature on the BCGA website?
The BCGA Calendar, its been a great tool to learn what's on and to meet people in the community!

In a few words describe what the BCGA is to you:
Its a great pulse on what's happening in the world of GA in BC

What other aviation organizations / clubs are you affiliated with?
Pacific Flying Club ZBB

Do you have a business or work at a business that you would like other members to know about (Provide Name & Link):
I also run a hobby business selling electric unicycles, perfect for loading in your plane and getting around the airfield! see www.vaneuc.com or google "Vancouver Electric Unicycles" and hit me up for a lesson!

Other interests:
Boating, Motorcycles, Kitesurfing, Tech

Anything else you would like to share with your fellow members:
Flying has quickly become a big part of my life and I'm loving the journey of learning more about it, if anyone reading this has recommendations on books to read, movies to watch, airparks to visit, planes to checkout, or anything else aviation related hit me up! being an electric vehicle enthusiast I'm also pretty excited to watch the electric aviation space unfold.

I am really interested to learn how flying vehicles work. I wanted to be an aircraft mechanic. I am just not sure if I can be an aircraft mechanic if I am not a pilot. I never learned how to fly a plane. I am also not qualified to learn it because I can't enroll. I am color blind. I know I will not get accepted in any school. It's too risky. But again, I am really interested how this works. This is why I take time to hang out with people in the know. I know when I grow up, I am going to work in a company which has something to do with planes.
