Why did you start flying?
My love for aviation has always been a part of me, for the last 15 year my photography work has provided me with lots of passenger time in helicopters and fixed wing airplanes, but it is not as simple as only being in the sky.

The mountains are a significant part of my lifestyle, my passion, respect and desire to recreate in the mountains started at a young age, at that time I simply liked hiking and scrambling in them. As time went on the winters became full of backcountry ski trips and snowmobiling expeditions and bike-packing adventures.

In 2008 I was buried 2m deep in an avalanche. This event changed how I felt in the snow covered mountains, the winter outings were less enjoyable with the back burning fear of always on my mind.

Knowing that I still needed to be in the mountains, I saved all my money, focused my time and resources into aviation. This would still let me enjoy the mountains, only on a more dimensional level. Now I can't stop flying, the excitement of a life long future of it it simply amazing.

Reading a story like this encourages me to pursue my desire to work in aviation industry. Todd Weselake's story wasn't really different from the stories I've read in the past. It all started as a dream, until he had the willingness to pursue it regardless if it's going to be easy or difficult. It';s good to know that after all the years he spent working to get his dream job, he finally had it and now earning from it. It's true that dreaming is boundless!
