June 17th Was A Busy Day For Aviation On The South Coast

June 17th was a great day for general aviation on the south coast! There were three big events that we all very successful in their own right!

The Abbotsford flying club hosted their annual Kids Take Flight event during which 8 pilots introduced 117 kids to aviation for the first time. While there was at least one reported bout of air sickness, all participants and volunteers had a great time and did their part to secure the future of general aviation in our province!

The BC Coast Chapter of the 99’s hosted their annual poker run with the help of the Aero Club of BC. Attendance at the poker run was great and many of the pilots visited some new airports for the first time. The community really came together in supporting this great event through, participation, volunteering and by donating some great prizes.
Lat but certainly not least, the Langley Aero Club hosted their annual fly-in. There were over 60 aircraft on the flight line featuring everything from a Sopwith Pup to a Cessna 337 and everything in between. The Fly-in was very well organized and all the attendees had a great time. Thanks to the Langley Aero Club and the Langley Airport for putting on such a great event!
